Operating Permit: OP2025-06531, OP2025-06530, OP2025-06536
We like to make the check in easier, provide directions on parking, and to provide pointers.
Visitors can shop at Indigo & Cotton located directly next door and across from the apartment; indulge in the city’s most charming bakery – Sugar Bakeshop – located just across the street from the house. Many of the city’s most notable eateries are located in the Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood, or an easy walk from the rental. In an October 2017 Thrillist article on where to eat in and around Charleston now – 11 of the 29 Charleston eateries listed are in easy walking distance to the home (the rest, an easy car or cab ride away): O-Ku, Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit, Chez Nous, The Darling Oyster Bar, The Grocery, Indaco, The Ordinary, Xiao Bao Biscuit, Warehouse, and Leon’s Oysters.
We are a 5 minute walk to Upper King Street, so most guests prefer to walk and explore the city. The beach is 20 minutes away by car. There is also a free shuttle offered by the city that runs along King Street (3 blocks away) to popular stops. Bike rentals are available nearby or you might enjoy trying a pedicab taxi. We offer free parking on site or in the lot we manage across the street.
There are no shared surfaces or spaces. We are a family owned and operated business and care very much for our guests experience. We are available to help with recommendations and planning as needed.
Absolutely no parties or late-night noise will be tolerated.
Upon booking this reservation, you also agreed to abide by the following rules:
Must be 25 years of age to book a reservation.
Registered sex offenders or those convicted of a sex crime are not allowed on the property.
No bachelor or bachelorette parties are allowed unless approved by host in writing in advance. Should this rule be violated, the reservation will be cancelled, even if during the term of stay, as a violation of house rules.
Casual enjoyment of the porches and surrounds are encouraged as this activity is complimentary to the surrounds and our brand, The Charlestonian. Therefore, to be clear, no parties or partying.
No noise and/or music after 9PM. Any noise and/or music prior to 9 PM must not be readily discernible to neighbors or guests so as to maintain livability in the house and the neighborhood. Porches are for the relaxation, conversation, and quiet enjoyment of all guests; therefore, please refrain from any loud noise or loud conversation.
Professional photography for guests is discouraged as this has proven to be disruptive to other guests’ enjoyment of the property and always commands exclusive use of the welcoming porches though which all enter the building. Onsite photography must be approved by staff in writing, in advance.
Hair stylists and professional third-party salon services are to be performed at a salon rather than at this gorgeous, immaculately taken care of historic house.
No smoking anywhere on the property. This includes on the porches and in front of the house and on the grounds.
No high-heels – they pockmark and ruin the heart pine flooring.
No loudness – there are others nearby.
No pets allowed
Please do not flush anything besides toilet paper down the toilets.
Leaning against or standing upon the porch handrails is both unwise and strictly not allowable.
Re-arranging of furniture, interior or exterior, is not allowable.
No leaving drinks and bottles lying about, inside or outside. General tidiness is expected. Coasters are to be used when any beverage is placed upon the wooden furniture; therefore, slate coasters abound throughout.
If you are bringing grocery items or beverages in a cooler, the cooler should only be placed outside by the barbecue grill so as to prevent damage to the porch or interior flooring from wetness or leaks.
No nailing or taping of anything up on the walls or furniture.
Deadbolts may not be used to keep doors open so that our beautiful wood door casing remains unharmed.
The Nest HVAC thermostats must be kept within 69 to 76 degrees at all times. Adjustment to your comfort level is advised within this reasonable range in temperature.
